While there are many amazing aspects to the rubrics feature, the fact that the rubrics default to a points based system is problematic. To make this feature usable and align with equitable grading practices, it would be great if there were a way to adjust the value each level of a rubric has to a percentage rather than a point value. For true standards based grading, the rubrics can better reflect progression toward proficiency.
As it is now, a 4 level rubric defaults to a 4 point scale with the only possible grades being A 100% (4/4), C 75% (3/4), F 50% (2/4), and F 25% (1/4).
For true standards based grading, the rubrics can better reflect progression toward proficiency if the percentage value for each one of those levels could be modified to generate a more equitable grade. Something like... A 100% (4/4), B (85%) 3/4, C (75%) 2/4 and D (65%) 1/4.
