Not getting notifications through Android app on parent account


I have my android app all set up with two students. I have notifications turned on. I do get school-wide notifications, so I know that schoology notifications in general are working. But I am not getting notifications from my student's teachers on their activity. I have everything turned on so I don't understand what the issue is. My students receive notifications on their ipad but I understand I should be receiving the same ones on my phone but nothing is coming through.

    The same thing has been reported by an LAUSD parent. I checked all of her notifications and everything is on for any type of update. She is the only parent that this is happening to. Please provide some reason why this is happening.

    After some more investigation, it appears that we're only getting push notifications for the specific account we're logged in as on the app. For example, we're getting notifications for parents, but not for our children. Is it possible to get notifications for our student's accounts in addition to the parent account all at the same time? Our children are in K and 2nd, hardly able to  pay attention to notifications, but we don't want to have to be logging into their account every day to see if there's something there. 

    One work around would be to have three phones, one logged into a parent account, and one for each child. But that is not practical. Am I missing something, or is this the way it's supposed to work? Is there a better work-around?
