"Add Test/Quiz" is GONE!

I have been using Schoology for the past five years, and I've loved pretty much everything about it during this time.  My question, though, is about the the "Add Assessment" option under Add Materials. This option appears to have replaced the "Add Test/Quiz" option that I have used for the past 5 years.  The Schoology website states that you are slowly phasing out the "Add Test/Quiz" option in favor of the new "Add Assessment" option, so I guess that explains why "Add Test/Quiz" has disappeared in the past few days (Yes, it was still there last week!).  This wouldn't be a problem if the new "Add Assessment" had all of the same functionality of the older version with new enhancements, but that is not the case.  The previous version allowed users to import entire tests/quizzes made on ExamView (and other software) and import random or selected questions from question banks saved in "Resources". 

These features from the "Add Test/Quiz" option are incredibly useful, time-saving, and teacher-friendly, and I have no idea why they wouldn't be included as part of the new "Add Assessment" feature from the launch of it, well before the old "Add Test/Quiz" option was removed.  Removing these features just weeks before school begins in a year where online testing features are going to be more important than ever is even more mind boggling.  This does not make for a seamless transition, like Schoology claims to be trying to do.  Why not simply remove the "Add Test/Quiz" option after the new "Add Assessment" option has these same capabilities, instead of saying it is "in the works" right before the school year begins.  

If Schoology really is in the process of adding all of the old features to the new "Add Assessment" option, I would love to know exactly when that will occur, and not just "it's in the works". But if Schoology just decided to discontinue some of its best features in August during a school year where these testing features are all the more important, that is very, very disappointing, to say the least.

Any help or explanation is greatly appreciated.

    If you don't see the option to add a test/quiz in your courses, the permissions may have been disabled at the organization level for this feature. Please reach out to your school's designated Support Contact for more information on enabling the permissions to add test/quizzes to your courses.

    I cannot believe this is the direction Schoology is going.  I have advocated my district adopt schoology for this feature and now they just did and we are being sent to assessments.  Assessments renders the test bank obsolete and all our work adding questions becomes worthless.  We cannot add questions from the test banks when creating assessments, only when we create test/quiz.  Why are you doing this?  Why can't you use test banks to create assessments and multiple versions?

    I reached out to Schoology and my ticket item was immediately closed and the message says that as a teacher we are not important enough to respond to so the ticket item is now closed.  Are you serious Schoology?

    At least for now, you can save one of your old quizzes in "resources" and then export it to whatever folder you are prepping for your class. You will just need to delete the old questions from this quiz, and add the new ones from your old question bank.

    I REALLY hope Schoology changes it's mind about getting rid of this feature. This is the only feature that makes Schoology significantly better than Google Classroom, or any other LMS for that matter.

    I am very disapointed with removal of "Add Test//Quiz". I have been using schoology for the last 3 years and this feature is that help and improve the teacher's produtivity in the classroom.The "Add Assessment" did not permit import my questions from the banks that I created in this years. It is a serious problem to us, because we trust in the Schoology populating the database questions that now we cannot use.

    I am a Basic User of a public Institute, and the support to us is directly with Schoology team. I believe that most of users were of this category.

    There is a prevision for the development and inclusion of all "Add Test/Quiz" features in the "Add Assessment", or reactivate to everybody the old, but gold, Test/Quiz ?

    hello im from mexico, and as all the comments before mine, at my school we been using schoology instead of edmodo, justo for the feature import my questions from the banks, i really don't know why you guys are doing that, it was a very helpful tool for us "teachers", y hope you change your mind and add once more that feature.

    This is disappointing. I have done a lot of work in the summer building a bank of questions. Now I cannot add those questions to any new assessment. I am no longer able to recommend schoology to my colleagues due to this very important feature being disabled.

    i've been using schoology for 7 years,  all my stuff is on schoology and i have been advocating to get my fellow teachers away from google classroom.   in one 15 minute session i showed them how to take an examview test and import it to a quiz/test and viola! i had more than half of my school using schoology during covid.   

    this import feature is the defining reason i have used schoology.   if basic users can import tests, why do we not use a competitor? 

    Now my coworkers are all going back to google classroom since the import quiz has disappeared.   Please fix this for basic users so i can continue advocating for schoology and hopefully getting them to become enterprise users.

    Hello. I write from Spain and I have the same feeling that all of you now. All my work saved in banks of questions has been worthless. Also I have been struggling with my partners in order to be able to use Schoology instead of Classrom, just because the test system. But now I feel really disappointed.

    Hello all, I have been researching this, and I have found a workaround! You can go to resources, click the little dropdown arrow to the right of where it says "My Resources" and then click "import". You can then import from a blackboard export, and therefore you can bring in an assessment from Examview that way, and it works. 

    Now if only Schoology had a "Narrative" feature like Examview does, I wouldn't have to modify my Examview tests so much before I exported them.

    Hope this helps the rest of us out there that are missing the import test option.

    Can you show us gifs of getting an assessment from resources? An exam view one. I can get it into resources. But can’t make that resource into an assessment.

    This is getting weirder everyday. Now, when you create an assesment, on the top left of the Questions menu you can fin the option "import from a bank". If you click there you can acced to your resources but there is no trace of your bank of questions... Jesus Christ! If something works, please don't touch! Quizzes were wonderful and I can't see the point of these new features that are getting crazy all of us!

    I create an Assesment. Then I go to Questions->Add from Item bank. And from there I get "This folder is empty". There's no way to show my questions bank up. I've tried any thinkable combination.

    What did you do? Why are you taking these actions? Why did you hate us? Schoology used to be cool and it was one, if not the best, platform around.
