Captivate support?

Seguir

I was reviewing an Adobe Captivate website at:

https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/learning-management-system-lms.html#main-pars_header_1
and I was wondering what kinds of interactions Schoology would support with an exported Captivate project?

Our business education / CTE department is looking at picking up some Captivate licenses to build some more interactive content for our courses. I want to make sure that Schoology would be able to handle these packages...

What types of Captivate projects would Schoology support?  What wouldn't it support?

    Hi Adam,

Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

Based on the information you provided, you can add your Captivate project(s) to a Schoology course as a SCORM Package.

Most of our Schoology users use Adobe Captivate to design certificates of completion. When designing certificates, users can include properties that will automatically pull the user's name, course info, etc. Once the certificate is designed you can then export certificates from Adobe as a SCORM package which can then be added to Schoology via Add Materials > Add Package > SCORM.

To help our team better understand your request, can you please provide more specific information on what type of Captivate projects you plan on creating? This way we can take a closer look to determine if the projects are supported in Schoology.

Thanks for the same-day response, Nina.  I'm glad to hear SCORM will work; I've used that successfully with Camtasia.  Camtasia is as far as I've gone with developing SCORM packages, and before we invest in Captivate, I was hoping I'd make sure our projects are supported.  This is a little theoretical since my experience is with Camtasia rather than Captivate.

In particular, I think our business ed / technology teachers would like to use the Software Simulation recording feature in Captivate.  I think they'd really like to make their software simulations score-able, so I'm wondering if a Software Simulation in Captivate can then be read as a scoreable SCORM package by Schoology.

We've seen a few new (and expensive) software textbooks offer skills assessment in the app the students are learning.  We figured maybe we could do that ourselves with Captivate and Schoology.

    Hi Adam,

Thank you for clarifying your goals!

Schoology supports SCORM versions 1.1 and 1.2 as well as 2004 - version 4 as seen in this article.

If you haven't done so already, we recommend reaching out to Adobe Captivate directly to determine if Software Simulation in Captivate can be read as a scoreable SCORM package by Schoology.

Please let us know if you need further assistance after reaching out to them.

Thanks for reaching out in the Schoology Community!
