iframe Options?

Seguir

When embedding a video, I would like to set the dimensions to adjust to the size of the viewer's screen.  Pixel-based dimensions may appear too big or too small, depending on the students' screen resolution.

In the iframe, I can set "width=100%", but the height does not adjust accordingly.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Hi, Mr. Barbato.

Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

Can you please try adjusting the iframe width and height to values that will fit into the page itself? You can start with numbers like 480w x 300h and increase or decrease those numbers from there.

You can also view the iframe within the Page's edit window and click and drag the window within the body of the page to increase or decrease the size of the iframe.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.  We hope this information helps!

    Best,

Thank you for the reply. Yes I can do that. But as soon as I change my screen resolution, it no longer looks good.  My point is that as long as the dimensions are pixel-based, it might look good on my screen, but not on someone else's. I am looking for a way to have the video automatically adjust the size based on the viewer's screen dimensions.

For example, when I go to Add Materials > Link, it creates a page with an iframe that contains additional style info (CSS?? i.e. below) which makes it adjust to the width of my page.

    <iframe src="https://..." class="sCourseIframeResized-processed" style="height: 478px;">...

I know it would be different for a video, because the proportions are constrained and the height would have to adjust to whatever the width is.  Perhaps this belongs under feature requests, but I was hoping that it was something that could be done in the current build with the right html code and/or CSS references.  I was encouraged when I saw that you can specify the width as a %, rather than px, but as I said in the OP, the height does not adjust to match and seems to default to 240px if not specified.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!!  :-)

    Hi, Mr. Barbato,

Thank you for providing me with more information on this issue. Currently, adjusting the iframe size based on the viewer's screen dimensions is not a supported feature in Schoology.

I have moved this post over to the Feature Ideas forum where other educators can share insight and show support for your idea.

Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks again for reaching out in the Schoology Community!
