Student Completion Rules working in reverse order.


Sometimes student completion rules do not work in the correct order. For example. If there are three sequential tasks; watch a video, submit an assignment, and view an answer key. They should work in order. Instead the only the third task is accessible to students. Once they open the answer key the rest of the materials become available. I have triple checked the rules and they are in the correct order.  Please help.

    If you are having issues with completion rules you can force the system to recheck all student activity to make sure student progress is properly controlled. You can find out more information on the Recheck Student Progress feature here.

    Dave, I have used completion rules for the last 2 years. It is a very buggy feature. Multiple times this year, students met the criteria, but it would not give them the green check mark, even after refreshing (as Nina mentioned, try "recheck student progress" button first). Also, as you mentioned, students were able to complete assignments out of order even with the "Requirements must be completed in sequential order" box checked. These students could not move forward. This happens regularly. Every time they say they fix it, it continues to happen.

    The only thing that has resolved the issue is to remove ALL submission rules, and then re-add them. However, the more submission rules a folder has, the longer it takes to load. Sometimes I have to wait 5 minutes just to remove/change one submission rule.
