Inserting Equations on Schoology Tests and Quizzes

When trying to insert an equation in test/quizzes, I am only getting the following.  Any suggestoins?

    I'm pleased to announce our Engineering team released a fix for this issue. Instructors may now successfully utilize the Math Latex and Equation functionalities in the rich text editor.

    If you continue to experience issues, please let us know and we will have our Support team investigate further.

    Hi Craig,

    An issue was identified that required we quickly disable the Mathtex feature in the Rich Text Editor.

    We know this feature is very important for customers teaching and learning math and so our Engineers are working to find a solution to still support math display in our rich text editor. This has been listed as an urgent issue so our Engineering team will work continuously during business hours, 9am-6pm EST, until a resolution has been reached.

    We’ll update you via this post as soon as it’s resolved.

    In the meantime, please consider uploading the equations as images/screenshots as a workaround.

    Can Schoology admins be updated on this? This is a pretty big issue. Our math teachers are anxious. All of their historical quizzes are useless.

    Hace dos semanas si lograba insertar ecuaciones; el día de hoy, 6 de mayo de 2020, tengo el mismo problema que reporta Craig Erickson el 30 de abril de 2020.

    ¿Ya tendrán una solución?

    I recall hearing from a Schoology rep some time ago that these forums provide less direction to Schoology regardless of the up-votes received than they did at one time. I'm not sure how Schoology weighs it's bugs fixes and enhancements requests especially since the acquisition by PowerSchool, so I went ahead and opened a ticket. Based on the lack of follow-up here from Schoology, I'm thinking that advice may ring with some truth. Math and science teachers have to be extremely frustrated losing the access during the Pandemic crisis we are in. I suggest asking your Schoology admins to open tickets if you have not yet done so.

    Whenever my students try to type in an answers on a math quiz using the pi tool, I get a picture of a broken picture. It is not fixed on my end.

    I am sorry to hear you are continuing to experience this issue. 

    Have your students attempted any troubleshooting steps such as deleting cookies and clearing cache on their browsers?

    If they haven't done so already, can you also have them review the System Requirements Guidelines listed in this article?

    If the issue continues to persist after performing the steps above, we suggest reaching out to your schools designated Support Contact(s) for further assistance. They will be able to submit a ticket on your behalf to the Schoology Help Desk for further investigation.
