parent access codes?

Seguir

I have just created several courses and am having students enroll. I was trying to download the parent access codes and the link to them was disabled w/ the text over saying that the course was disabled. What does this mean?

    Hi Dwight,

This error can occur if the course is not associated with an active grading period. As a Basic user, you create and associate your own grading periods. If there is a grading period associated with your course, it will appear under Information in the left menu of your course. To check the dates of your grading periods, you can click Grade Setup from the left menu of your course.

For information about grading periods, please see this article

If your course is associated with an active grading period, but you are still experiencing difficulties, please let us know!

I just tried what you suggested with the grade setup, but the Parent Access Code button is still grayed out and giving an error message about the course being disabled.  What should I do next?  I've included the link to the page that shows this message.

    Thank you!

    Hi Charlene,

If your course has been associated with an active grading period, it will appear under your course Information

If this area does not appear, it's likely that you will need to add a grading period, which you can do from Grade Setup

Clicking Edit will also allow you to view the dates for any existing grading periods.

From this view, you can make sure that the dates are correct.

Please ensure that the course you are trying to share with parents is associated with an active grading period. Because you are using the Basic version of Schoology, each course will need to be associated individually.

If you continue to encounter an error while your course is associated with an active grading period, please let us know! Be sure to include a screenshot of the error message and the grading period your course is associated with.

Additionally, for the sake of privacy, I'm going to go ahead and remove your email address from your comment.
