Sideways profile picture

Hello!

 

On the desktop my profile picture is correct.  However, in the app on my phone it is sideways.  Help!  (Thanks!)

    This may happen in order to accommodate the dimensions of your photo.

    Is this a recent occurrence? Did you recently change your photo? Did this happen with an app update?

    I only recently joined, so no updates so far.  It is the first profile photo I have used, so I have no previous comparison.

    If you are still experiencing this behavior, please reach out to your designated Support Contact(s). You can find them by clicking Support in the footer navigation bar of your Schoology account. They will be able to give you more context for this issue and submit a ticket with our Support Team, if necessary.

    I am still having the same problem with no resolution. The picture is correct but when I open it in Schoology, it is sideways.

    I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to upload my daughter's picture. It's a jpeg picture that's vertical and it becomes sideways when it's uploaded.

    The solution is that we can use .png not .jpg
    I spent half an hour waiting to chat with tech support to learn this.

    Hi all,

    Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

    We’ve reported this issue to our Engineering team with a priority of Moderate Impact. This means that we understand displaying images rotated with EXIF orientation tags is not working fully as intended, but prioritization of this issue is weighted against more urgent issues and other features we are developing. We've found that converting the images to the png format displays the orientation correctly when viewed in Schoology.

    Please let us know if there is new information about this issue that might change the priority. If we missed something from you or hear back from other Schoology customers about this issue, and the priority changes, we’ll let you know.
