Feature Request -= Feedback in Assessments or Tests/Quizzes

Seguir

There needs to be a way to highlight and comment directly on student work in an Assessment or Test/Quiz.  For example, if a student completes a short answer/essay question in Schoology, I need to not only be able to add a comment on the work, but also connect that comment to specific text in the student response.

    Hi all,

Thank you all for your feedback.

Although we review all submissions, it’s not possible, due to the high volume of requests, to personally respond to every posted request.

Please rest assured we have noted this request which helps us gather feedback for our Product team to consider this feature for future updates.

Additionally, while the long-term plan for Schoology is to enhance Course Assessments and phase out the Test/Quiz feature, we want to ensure a seamless transition for everyone using our original testing feature.

Since there are several features that we want to add to Course Assessments before retiring Test/Quiz, we recommend that you click Follow on each section of the Product Roadmap to stay up to date on other key features we're currently building:

Thank you for your understanding and for your help in making Schoology even better!

    Best,

This is my frustration.  Has this been fixed yet for the 2019-20 school year?

You can add comments in written answers within test/quizzes. However, this can not be done in assessments and it is important to send feedback to students on an essay or short answer, particularly for World Languages where students need to see exactly where the mistake is to remediate their writing skill.

Please Schoology, fix this problem if all possible. Thank you!

    Hi all,

My fear is that what we’re asking for is not really on Schoology’s radar.  It seems to me that they are developing the Assessments tool to be a tool for automatically scoring huge administrations of tests.  Whenever I look on the product roadmap, it seems like they are largely working on Managed Assessments at the Enterprise level.  If I’m right about this (that the tool is really about administration) then it’s not very likely that anyone would be providing individual feedback anyway - too many students in any given administration of the test to do so.

Schoology, please tell me I’m wrong?  Sorry, right now, your Assessments tool is misnamed - without the ability to give rich feedback, it’s not an assessment - it’s a test with automatic grading.  This kind of oversight is a fatal flaw for Assessments.

I'm worried about that also and I commented on another thread for the same feature.

For me, the main improvement over the test/quiz tool was the ability for students to input math as they do for many of our state assessments.  The lack of ability to give feedback makes this completely useless a the classroom level. :(

You really need to be able to give feedback on written questions, especially for English, Social Studies, and World Languages courses. Otherwise this feature is next to useless.

I wholeheartedly agree that the Assessments feature as it stands is not useful at all for providing meaningful, qualitative feedback. The Tests/Quizzes feature has this functionality completely locked down. I can go in question by question and provide comments for my students so they can learn from their mistakes and improve. Qualitative feedback is essential, especially for language arts. I'm honestly grading vocabulary quizzes that I created with the Assessments feature right at this moment and find myself so frustrated at not being able to explain simple things to my students. Leaving just a grade leaves it to them to figure out why points were deducted. The Assessments functionality was absolutely not created with the teacher/student relationship in mind. Please, please, please fix this.
