missing assignments automatically count as zero

Seguir

It would be very helpful to have the option for missing assignments to automatically count as zero. It's frustrating to have to go through and enter zeros for students who don't submit assignments.

That would be a great feature to add and would help to encourage more of my colleagues to adopt its use. Hopefully Schoology will add this feature very soon.

This would be an awesome addition to save time.

My teachers would love the feature. I don't like it when the student has zeros but it isn't accounted for in their grade. I would rather them know up front that their grade is really a 73 instead of a 94. When do you think we will get this feature added? I see that other people have been asking for it for some time now. Thank you for your consideration as our entire county will be using Schoology next year.

I agree, and if an assignment is turned in it would still appear in my list of things to grade.

Because of this issue, I am looking for other options to run my online class next year. Does anybody know how Edmodo handles this?

Zeros should definitely be added automatically. I have to set an alarm for the deadline to remind myself to go in and enter all the zeros for students who missed the deadline. Either that, or change the grade to zeros for those who submitted the quiz but did so after the deadline. But I'd also like for the missed-deadline zeros NOT count toward the average as it makes the quiz average appear lower than it should (thus students think it was a harder quiz than it actually was).
