Print student roster

Seguir

I use a roster for a wide variety of record-keeping. Having a hard copy is immeasurably useful.

    Hi all,

Thank you for your feedback and interest in this feature.

Rest assured we do carefully monitor all feature idea posts and comments. Due to the high volume of requests, it’s not possible to personally respond to every posted request and comment.

As a potential workaround in the meantime, you can download your course Gradebook as a CSV, delete superfluous columns, and print the name columns to use as a roster. To download your Gradebook as a CSV:

    1. Navigate to the course.
    2. Click Gradebook in the left menu.
    3. Click the More Options menu in the upper-right corner (the three vertical dots).
    4. Select Export from the drop-down menu.
    5. Select Gradebook as CSV
    6. Click Next

Reasons to print a class roster:

-Hand to chaperone on field trip

-Take with outside for Fire Drill

    -Creating student checklists

-Creating class account lists to import w/other tools/sites

    -Mail Merge

    -Awards/Certificates

    -Labels

... All members of our staff have expressed interest in the ability to download a student roster through Schoology. Please add this function.

I agree with the teacher's comments above.  I use a hard copy of my class roster daily to record grades, check off participation points, etc . . . .

It is an essential tool that appears to be missing from Schoology.

I am in charge of a club so I dont have an official grade-book. I would love to be able to print or export my members.

Do these comments get read by anyone at Schoology? The comments go back 4 years and have not been addressed by Schoology.  I, too, would like to print a roster or be able to copy the list of students into a district form.

A low-tech work-around for printing a roster:  Within a course, I navigate the the "Badges" page and then drag my mouse cursor to select all student names. Then I press Ctrl-C to copy. Then I open a Microsoft Excel file, put my cursor in a cell, then press Ctrl-V to paste in the column of names.

It should be easy to print a class roster in Schoology with a grid for record keeping. It currently is not.

And Schoology doesn't read these boards. Very interesting. Ditto the Bill Murray. Now that's a badge!
