Copy calendar events!

Seguir

I have not found a way to do this - it seems like it should be a simple thing to implement since there is a way to copy events during creation of the event but once it is created - there is no way to copy it to another section. Anyone found a way to do this? A workaround if not? And I would strongly suggest implementing this in future updates if not as well!

I haven't found a workaround either. It's very easy as an educator with multiple classes to make the mistake of putting events on the wrong calendar. If you've taken the time to attach/embed multiple resources to that event, it's really demotivating to have to do it all again. Thanks!

Ditto to this. I mistakenly posted ALL of my class events for this week to my personal calendar instead of my course calendar. These events included multiple links to other resources. It took my entire prep one day to create this week's events, and now I have to do them all over again.

Very irritating - especially if you teach multiple sections of the same course or if you have collective due dates, schedule changes that affect all classes, or simply a "no school" notification - please fix this! It should work the same as your resources options to copy resources to multiple courses.

I just noticed the dates here - if this problem was noticed in February and it still hasn't been fixed - there is a big problem. My school is currently testing Schoology and Canvas - this could easily be a deal-breaker and my school will pick Canvas if these kind of software problems aren't fixed quickly enough.

It is now March, one year later, and still can't copy events from one calendar to another. I had a user who accidentally added events for our Middle School to her personal calendar. Should be easy enough to allow her to copy them to the Middle School calendar from her personal. Instead, she has to create them again. Very time consuming and seems such an easy fix.

Almost 2 years later, and this is STILL a good question.

    Hello? Schoology? Anybody there? Halloo?

I agree that this should be an option. Many teachers need to make changes to where an event is posted and it should be an option that is available after creation as well.

Unfortunately, I have abandoned the use of the Calendar completely due to the lack of ease of things like this.  I'm an avid Schoology user and some feature-love on the Calendar would be really nice!  Please chime in if you would like to see this feature added...the more responses the better.

Agreed. I'm sure it would be a fairly easy fix. The Google calendar does this easily and is very intuitive.

Schoology initiated all of the features Google Classroom is slowly implementing. Our school district just voted to stay with Schoology and upgrade to the expensive version, but as GC improves, Schoology will really need to keep up with some improvements in order to keep the satisfied user community it has built over the past several years. I love Schoology, but when I send a suggestion/help request to Google Classroom, an upgrade generally follows very quickly (unless it was a stupid or improbable idea -- which I sometimes have). This calendar seems like it should be a really easy fix for people who understand programming, so I just cannot figure out why Schoology is not attending to this community need.

Can we have an update on this?

There are over 150 requests* for this basic and much needed feature since 2013.

    * If you search the help forums, many similar requests exist, going back to 2013. Adding up all the questions, "me too" comments, and upvotes > 150.

Please add this feature!  So frustrating to have to add individually to four different sections of the same class!

I agree! We need to be able to COPY existing EVENTS and BULK COPY existing events to another course or group. Please.

Agreed!  How do you do this?  The best I could do was copy and paste, but I did not have any links or attachments.  It seems like that would be tedious.

    Hello Natalia,

We know that you are excited for new features in Schoology and we thank you for your feedback within our Community.

Although we review all submissions, it is not possible due to the high volume of requests, to personally respond to every posted request. Even seemingly simple product ideas may be more complex than you might expect or may wait in line as part of a larger development schedule.

Thank you in advance for your patience and please keep an eye out for new features via our Product Roadmap.

    Thank you!

As a school counselor who relies heavily on the calendar "events," this feature drastically improve consistency and efficiency.

Yes, and add the ability to sync your Schoology calendar with your Google Calendar in a timely fashion. The Schoology documentation states that it can take up to 8 hours for new events to populate from Schoology to Google Calendar and I have verified that this is the case. That makes it virtually useless for students trying to use their Google Calendar to see Schoology events.

We would very much like the ability to copy calendar events to other courses. How hard can this be?

If you enter a calendar item on the homescreen instead of in a group or course, you can add it to as many groups/courses as you want.  Just click the calendar icon for events, add it there, then type the first letter or number and your courses and groups will pop up.  You can add the event to whichever you want.  Just make sure you are on your homepage and not IN a course or group.
