auto save annotations

Seguir

I graded about 20 papers before realizing that the annotations and comments that I put into the little stickies would not be saved unless pressing the save button at the bottom. Needles to say I am not happy about the time put into the comments for my students.

Been there, done that!! Autosave on this feature is a MUST...or at the very least a message warning you that your work will be lost if you don't save.

I agree - and lately my annotations don't always give me a save button so I have to refresh the page and reannotate the whole assignment. FRUSTRATING!!!!

We are also having problems with annotations on the iPad app not giving the OPTION to save- making annotations then the 'checkmark' is grayed out and not functioning properly. Works on one iPad but not the other.

Extremely frustrating! Edmodo's annotation is much better, easier to see and use. Please make improvements to this feature!

I learned the hard way that annotations do not automatically save when the grade is saved. This once again makes grading a two step process because I need to save both the grade and the annotations rather than being able to save both at once.

It would be really nice if some one from Schoology would give us an update on whether this is in the works or not. There are two threads for this same feature request, both dating back 2-3 years, and no comment from Schoology. Seems like a simple feature to add, but if it's extremely complex, just letting your users know why it's not possible would help us understand that you're reading our requests.

2020 and still no auto-save and no warning message...Sigh.  Just got this email from a teacher:

"Could Schoology add a “Do you want to save/submit your work?” message?

When I am writing comments on submissions in Schoology, I sometimes forget to hit submit or I want to quickly look at something else, and when I leave the page, I lose all of the comments I’ve written. I have tried to train myself not to do that, but when I am focused on a student’s work, I don’t always remember.

Because I end up having to re-write all of the comments, I lose lots of time…"
