Drag and Drop Questions

Seguir

The state of Colorado is implementing a standardized test that uses drag and drop questions on a computer.  Can we get some way for Schoology to support drag and drop questions either through the Schoology test generator or by importing from another program such as Hot Potatoes?

Thanks, Mitch, for posing this question. Being a Colorado educator myself, I would like to see this technology.

This seems like a very important part of testing. Please consider adding this feature.

I agree--this is definitely a feature that would be important for giving students experience and practice with this type of test question. It sounds like Mitch already has a quick and easy fix, so let's get the ball rolling on this!

Our school has implemented a 1:1 Chromebook initiative.  Our students are often using tools for writing, blogging and creation.  We use Schoology a great deal and would benefit from a drag and drop option in the test area.  Since we are taking part in the PARCC testing, this skill is required and it would be helpful to be able to practice and challenge students through Schoology.

I got Hot potatoes to work in Schoology and this works even on a Chromebook by:

    1. Load up the Hot Potatoes and click on file-export and choose standard V6 page.

    2. In Schoology, create a page.  Choose file and upload the Hot Potatoes web page

    3. Students have to download the website by clicking on it (View link won't work)

    4. Double-click on downloaded website in your Downloads/Google Drive and it loads up and works.

Only problem is that I can't get the grades from the Hot Potato activity into Schoology so I guess the workaround is to take a screenshot and have the teacher enter in the grade.

I would also would like to see Hot Potatoes exercises integrated in Schoology. As a matter of interest Hot Potatoes has undergone major updating recently and is a really up to date, fantastic suite of programmes.
