Need the ability for teachers to annotate student work when submitted to dropbox on iPad.

Seguir

When students submit an assignment teachers need to be able to annotate directly on the assignment in Schoology and not have to take it out, to a PDF writer, and then back.  If the same options that are offered on the web version can be offered in the app as far as grading and comments, teachers here will REJOICE!

Thanks-

    Hi Everyone,

I want to let you know that we're actively working on an annotations tool for the iOS and Android apps. This feature will be available in the iOS app by the end of Summer 2014, and in the Android app by late Fall 2014.

To stay up-to-date on this feature, please follow this thread: https://support.schoology.com/hc/communities/public/questions/200411093-Ability-to-grade-and-annotate-assignments-from-the-iOS-app. We'll be posting updates there.

    Thanks,
    Vickram

Even more helpful would be a feature that allows free hand commenting/writing (with finger or stylus) on the doc in the iPad viewer. Being able to annotate in iPad is KEY to making the iPad app truly helpful...at least for those of us who are English teachers.

Completely agree, as the Digital Learning specialist at my school I chose schoology over other LMS because of its user friendliness and its general compatibility with the iPad.... This year it seems that other programs may be surpassing schoology in both of these categories...Please add/improve the functionality of providing students with comments/annotating. I completely understand where the English teachers are coming from on this.

I am in agreement. We chose Schoology at one of our 6 high schools specifically to support digital workflow. However, we are disappointed in having no ability for students on iPads to see teacher annotations on their returned documents.

@Melissa Hughes, classmint has text annotation. You can use classmint for this.I recommend to checkout www.classmint.com

I am grading using my thaw schoology app on the ipad, and it works fine, but I find that my finger works better than a stylus. Is anyone else having that issue. Is there a stylus that works well for annotating within the schoology app?

I like that grading using ipad is effective, but I wish the browser version was as streamlined. Are you working on that? I have tablet/ laptop.. Lenovo yoga, and I wish I could grade as easily on that as I do on my ipad. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

The annotation feature is honestly really limiting. It offers 4 colors to write-but no eraser tool? Seriously? eBackpack allows you to add a bunch of audio feedback as well-like placing the audio NEXT TO the thing the student needs to look at-not just some attached comment they might ignore.

    Hi Margaret,

Thank you for taking the time to give this feedback!

This Feature Idea post was for an annotation tool on the iOS and Android apps, which has been completed.

To help us consolidate support for the features you want and to streamline the Community, please consider providing an upvote and/or clarifying comment for this pre-existing Feature Idea: Grading annotations - NEED ERASER! and perhaps submit a New Feature Idea for the changes to the audio feedback function you wish to see.

Thank you for your understanding and for your help making Schoology even better!

    Best,
