Ability to set default test settings

Seguir

Classmarker.com has a great feature where you're able to set all of your defaults so that you don't have to set them each time you make a quiz.

I, for instance, like all of the settings pretty much the opposite of the way the default is set. It would be nice if I could pick which ones are defaulted.

This would be great for all assignments as well.  Many teachers typically make assignments due at the end of the school day, not at 12:00.  They have to change the time for each assignment.

I have all of my assignments stored in group resources. If I create an assignment there and then add it to each of the 5 courses I teach, I can set the due date, number of points, category, etc. for each course. However the assignment availability defaults to "hide now". This is incredibly inconvenient as I then have to go to each course, click on the assignment -> settings -> change availability to "available now."

When I add it to a course and give it a due date, I am doing that because I want my students to be able to do the assignment. It defeats the purpose if it is unavailable to them. There should be an option when I add the assignment to each course, to also set the availability.

    Please add this feature soon!!!

For the online test/quiz, the dates in the test settings: availability.  It would be great to have a box to the right of it where you can click it to set the calendar to that date as well instead of setting the due date in 2 different places.

When you are in the settings for an online test/quiz, it would be great to have a box to check that puts the times you set in settings on the calendar.

When you import a test from a test bank why should all the points set back to the default of ten. They should remain at the point value given when the test question was created.

It is very annoying having them all set to 10.

I also agree with all the posts. The inability to change default assignment settings is the single biggest loss of efficiency in Schoology.

I also find it very inefficient to change the scoring for discussion questions. The default is 100 points. I would like them to all be 1 pt, but the default capability is lacking. Please consider this change to make it more efficient.

I agree. Why would the default point value be set to 10? It seems like a simple enough change for schoology to correct.

This. I hate having to go in and change it on all of my questions I import from quiz banks!

YES! please let us set defaults: for point values, for "hide now" vs. "available", etc.
Please keep the changes I made to point values etc. when I save questions to the question bank.

I'm basically just agreeing with what everyone in this thread has said.

I agree with all the posts. Please allow us to set our own default for the point values of test questions.

I would like to set the amount of points for a test and have schoology take the number of points divided by total number of questions to set the point value per question.

Please, please adjust this setting. 10 points for 1 question is a very strange default setting, too. It's very tedious to change this for every question, especially when the default value is so odd.

Something that confounds me is this: I give a 20 question quiz, no partial credit. A student misses one, schoology gives them a 90%. A student puts one of two correct answers, gets a 95%. This is incorrect in both scenarios. Why can't schoology just calculate the percentage of correct answers? This would eliminate the need to set point values for each question.

Agree! Homeworks I typically make available after class ends and due just before my class begins. This is exhausting to set up every single time I have homework, especially with increasing pushes for daily homework.

The point value default should be changeable. This wastes time to have to change the point value on every question! And, if you forget it is really a nighmare!

C'mon guys, please implement this! We all make lots of assessments and really need this feature.

As others have said this would save us so much more time if it is fixed.

If it is too complex to put a default point setting, just make each question 1 point by default for now. It would take your programmer less than 5 mins to do

As opposed to each teacher wasting 2-3min every time they make a quiz.

    We will be so grateful!!

Yes: an arbitrary "10" as default does not meet everyone's needs, and should be possible to customize. Perhaps as a setting when you first create the quiz?

I have found a possible solution. Now I see a button when I create a quiz that allows me to set one point value to all the questions in the quiz. This is only when I am creating a quiz where I import questions from a test bank.

Is there a way to set point value for each test instead of having to change it for EVERY SINGLE question?

I also agree with the others, I missed changing the default value from 10 to 1, i thought I already had 60 points, when one student asked me if #27 is really 10 points. Hence, from 60 to 51 points. Until this is settled, I'll be very careful and diligent, by searching for any '10 points' from the rest of the questions.

Every question has the default of 10 points which we have to change with EVERY question we create. Having the points value set to 1 or left blank would be a better option than 10.

Yes, this! I would LOVE to be able to set defaults such as allow partial credit, point value, etc. I waste so much time having to change the settings for each question/assignment.

100 questions in a quiz, means manually changing point value 100 times.
