Recurring Events

Seguir

It would be great if teachers had the option to add repeated events to a course calendar. For example, if a teacher has an event every week consistently throughout the year, it would be nice for them to only enter it once and have it repeat through the calendar.

Agreed!  Why is this not available yet?  It is much needed.

I have to agree.  Now that we're doing virtual learning, this is a must.  I spend almost 2 hours every week just putting up recurring calendar items.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

...and this thread is now 7 years old. I posted on it in 2015 when we adopted Schoology (I also brought the issue up with our implementation specialist). This lack of responsiveness on the part of Schoology coupled with performance issues and the increasingly intensive use of our LMS in the current crisis are all reasons we are now looking at other options.

I agree. A reoccurring event on a calendar is needed by your educators. It seems that schoology has been quite stale for years in terms of making updates. Over the course of the many years I've been using it, it doesn't seem like they are committed to improving their LMS for their users.

As much as I love many things about Schoology, things like this make it very frustrating to use. This feature is a no-brainer. Curious to know if Canvas (who seems to be taking over the world) has this feature? Maybe if several of us continually submit a feature request it will help?

As so many schools are about to go fully virtual again in the fall, not being able to create recurring virtual events for students' daily schedules is about to be an incredible burden for teachers. Please fix this.

As someone who teaches in a district that is currently fully virtual, not being able to add recurring events to the calendar is VERY frustrating and eats up a lot of my valuable time. When is this going to get fixed?

For anyone who came here and is looking for a workaround, I'd suggest creating recurring events in another calendar (e.g., Google) and using the import calendar feature.

@Joseph Wilk  As an FYI, that workaround doesn't work.  Only the first event of the series will come in.

Sorry, you are correct. I skipped a major step and should mention that I used the GCalPlus Chrome extension to conveniently duplicate the event instead of using the recurrence, for that exact reason—not a long-term solution, but a workable one.

When is Schoology going to add this function?  For those of us who see kids from multiple sites weekly (speech, OT, ed specialists), I will need to schedule 40+ sessions a week for weeks on end.  Make the calendar function like a real online calendar please.

This is a much needed feature for teachers to schedule reoccuring synchronous class times for students. Please prioritize this feature.

PLEASE! This is even more important with distance learning! We really need both recurring events for the calendar and recurring assignments! Thank you Schoology!

Anyone find a solution for this?  I tried importing a google and outlook calendar that had existing recurring events, but when opened in Schoology it only displays the first event in the series.  It feels like Schoology is doing everything they can to prevent anything from "recurring" on their platform. :(

@Brian Gadus- the best solution I came up with so far is that I create a week's worth of events - and then at the end of the week - I edit that week's events to be on next week's calendar.
