Student Standard Mastery View

Seguir

Currently I can see overview of student mastery on various standards based on alignments, however they cannot.  I want my students to be able to access the same data- how they are performing on various standards and skill sets so they can set their own learning goals.  Access to that kind of data seems far more useful to them as the learner than an overall average score.  I want them to be able to easily see their strengths and weaknesses in regards to the standards.

Can you make the mastery report feature available for a student to see?

I have two accounts: Enterprise and Basic.  I use the Basic version to vet all of my ideas and to show students how to navigate the website without risk of exposing any private student grade data.  In many ways the Basic version is superior to the Enterprise version - but I think it's mostly due to restrictions imposed by the district.  That said, my Basic account shows my Mastery data and it's an awesome tool.  My Enterprise account doesn't (I just had a student log in and we looked; no Mastery)  Looks like it is either a flaw in Enterprise, or a setting controlled by an administrator.

    Hi Chad,

Thanks for posting your question. It appears that you have your Basic and Enterprise accounts linked together in Schoology and that may be causing some confusion when you are accessing courses in Schoology. Since Mastery is only available in the Enterprise version of Schoology, you may want to make sure which School your courses are associated with. You can find the school association just under the title of the course once you have entered it.

I hope this information helps, thanks for posting your question.

Mastery is available in the Enterprise version as a teacher.  It is visible in the Basic version as a student if the course that the student is enrolled in is managed by a teacher with an Enterprise account.  My account is Enterprise.  My students are Enterprise.  I can see and use mastery as a teacher. My students cannot see any mastery data in their enterprise accounts.

    Hi Chad,

You will need to discuss the individual access permissions (teacher, student, etc) with your Schoology System Administrator. It sounds as though students do not have access at this time.

    Thanks!

@Charles, are you saying that students do have the option, but in some cases the System Admin can turn that visibility on and off?

    Hi Mr. Babcock,

Enterprise System Administrators can control Mastery at the system-role level. That permission is titled View received mastery grades. This permission is found in the Courses section, in the subsection: Student Grades/Mastery/Attendance.

When this permission is disabled, students will not see the Mastery selection on the left side navigation of courses.

    Thanks!
