Part 2: Am I Going Crazy - Are There No More Email Notifications ?


Fall 2020 Update - I still need help!

I was getting fantastic support from the Schoology team back in early July, but I had just moved into a new house with a ton of responsibility, and it was summer holiday, and I lost track of this entire situation. I was not reading my work email over the summer, so I missed that the issue was closed due to non-response from me. I am sorry!

Please, please, please review this ticket and either reopen (best idea - as the history is all there) or create a new one with the historical details included? The issue has NOT been resolved...just closed due to inactivity...

The ticket had been assigned to Mark Force on the TSE I Escalations​ team and he was doing a fantastic job of helping me.

Unfortunately, my problem exists ONCE AGAIN for my brand new course that I have just setup for this school year. Please help ????

I tried entering a new ticket for Support, but each time it gets marked automatically solved. But it isn't. Can you please help again ???

I have been using Schoology for many years (since 2012). One of the features that I have loved in the past is that my students receive an email notification whenever I write a comment on their assignment.

I discovered this fall that despite having all of the proper notification settings, their email addresses are verified, but my students were NOT receiving email notifications. Here I was, going through all the effort of writing detailed notes to them, and they had no idea it was happening. I have double, triple, quadruple checked everything, including checking spam folder, junk filter, etc. on email account. No messages received.

I have scoured your help centre, user docs, guides, etc. and cannot find anywhere anything that indicates this feature has changed. I am only a Basic user, but that is because there are such a small number of users in my school that Enterprise is not feasible. As far as I can tell, email notifications is not an Enterprise-only feature. At least, it wasn't for many, many years. Has this changed?

Please, please, please help me solve this issue...I know that students can log into Schoology and check their 'notifications' from there. I am trying to get their email notifications to work because over time that feature has been the one that has caused the most positive impact in how students use Schoology.





PS - I found this page which indicates that email notifications should work:

ONE MORE NOTE: I understand VERY well how to set their notifications in order for this to happen. See attached image of a student account that has EMAIL notifications turned ON for course comments on assignments. I don't believe this is user error, I am setting everything up the same way I have done for years and years and years....
