How do I send a message to my classmates and how to post commets

1. Hi, when I try to send a message to my classmates it doesn't work but I can send messages to my professors it does work? I am very confused. It says send a message to someone in your network. Technically my classmates are in my network.                                
2. How do I post comments for my classmates work. When you look at the notictacion section it says soso posted a assiment subbsion comment for blahblah. If you can't commenet them and tell them what a good job they did. I think it is quit uesless for students to see it. I understand it might be helpful for teachers but not students.

 I am very new to this online school and schoology. Please explain this, Thank you

  Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

  Depending on the settings in place at your school, students may not be able to send messages to each other. 

  Here's a Help Guide with more information on this process.  In reference to seeing other student's submissions, that is an issue that the engineering team is investigating and it's not intended behavior. Students should not receive notifications when other student's submit assignments.  Once a release is fixed, we will update you via this thread. 

  If you have any more questions, I encourage to reach out to your school's designated Support Contact or your Course Admin since they may have settings enabled that are specific to your school and/or courses.

  yes hello, I was wondering could I get help or instructions on how to add one or two of my classmates ass my friends or how to message the when I do I will send a file just for proof
