Missing "Start Attempt" Button

I am in a role of support for multiple schools.  A teacher I spoke with today informed me one of her students is missing the "start attempt" button on her assessments.  I have checked settings, worked through the process docs and I am the support person so there isn't anyone else to ask.  How can we remedy this for the student so she can take assessments like the rest of her class?

    Hi all,

    Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

    The default setting for assessment availability is Disable. If your students can open the assessment but the Start New Attempt button is unavailable, check if you need to switch this setting to one of the Enable options.  Here's a Help Guide that explains this process in more detail.

    We have heard of the same issue with some students in our district. Does anyone have any answers? We have recommended students clear their history/cache/cookies.

    We have the same problem and know it is a student using an I-Pad, not sure if that is the issue or not.

    I am experiencing the start new attempt button missing on my whole class for an assessment.  I have enabled submissions but it does not help

    I'm the System Admin for multiple schools. One of my teachers is facing the same issue with her whole class. Students don't see "Start New Attempt" button. I joined that course as a fake student to test it, and it works for the fake student. The fake student can see the "Start New Attempt" button but existing students cannot. 

    I confirmed that Submission is Enabled for the assessment. 

    Could somebody help me resolve this issue?
