Class data analysis

Follow

Merging classes doesn't allow for mathematical analysis for individual classes/assignments without tedious exporting to excel. Please remedy this.

    Hi Kevin,

Can you clarify what you mean by merging classes? Where are you seeing this? Where are you exporting from? What information are you looking for?

Linking classes combines the data from all of the classes.  We would like the data from each linked class.

    Hi Kevin,

    Where exactly did you respond?

Was it in another post or through a ticket?

Apparently I replied to a no-reply email without knowing it.  Here is my original text:

Right now I have all of my schoology classes merged so that when I create one assignment, or post an update, it propagates to all classes.  However if I give an assessment it only provides an average, median, mode, etc. for all classes lumped together.  If I want the analysis by class, then I have to export to excel, clean up the data, put in calculations, etc.  Does that make sense?

    Hi Kevin,

One more clarification: Where are you looking for this analysis?

If you filter the Gradebook to a specific section and then export the Gradebook as a CSV, it should only download the information from that specific section.

Within Assessments, you can also filter by section:

Similarly, you can filter by section within Test/Quiz:

I apologize if I'm misunderstanding your request!

I understand that.  I don't want to go through the download.  It's cumbersome and requires a lot of cleaning up the data.  I just want the statistics that Schoology provides under the "view statistics" option broken out by class without having to un-link classes.

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for the clarification and apologies for any misunderstanding!

If I'm understanding correctly, you would like to see an option to filter by linked section within the View Stats function of Test/Quizzes.

Please rest assured that your feedback has been received and acknowledged.

Thank you for your help to make Schoology even better!
