No Submit Assignment button

Follow

Hello -

I have created a number of assignments in Schoology and checked and double checked the due dates, that they are published and that the "enable submissions" box is checked. However, none of them have a "submit assignment' button in the R tab when students open them up. This has caused a lot of issues with students and parents and I cannot seem to find a fix.

Please advise asap. Thank you!!

    Hi Bonnie,

I am having the same issue. I looked through the troubleshooting article you posted and it does not address the issue either.

Hi, I face this issue too. There is no "submit assignment" button in the assignment that I've created. Pls advise. Thanks.

If you're using the View As option and select a student from your roster, you wont be able to see the Submit button. You actually have to be logged in as a student to see it. Since Schoology does not currently have an integrated "Demo" or "Sample" student feature our system administrator created one for our class. I'm able to test features with that account.

This question is not answered as above.  When you view through the Course Options, and view as a selected student in the class- there is a submissions area, but not a button.  This needs to be addressed.

    Hi all,

Are your students unable to see the submit button or are you unable to from your preview?

Elisa is correct -- if you are using View As, you will not be able to see the button. However, the students should still be able to see it.

    Yimel,

You are right!  I went in and signed up for the class and went to upload and assignment that I created for the prof- and yes, as a student I could see not only the 'submissions' area, but an actual; button for the process.    This really should be corrected by Schoology to be able to view this as a student in Course Options..so professors an d teachers are not left hanging 'wondering if' it was set up correctly.

    Hi Shari,

The Submit button is not available to instructors when using the View Course As tool since instructors are unable to submit assignments on students' behalf. You can find more information about the feature here: View Course As.

If you do experience an issue where students are unable to access the Submit button, please let us know!

I went in as a student (used login and password) and looked at an assignment. First of all, I had assigned it from OneDrive--the student hadn't added it to their resources, so I did that.

But even after doing so and logging in again, 1) I did not see the "create" option. I saw "Assignment" and "My Document" (Screenshot 1).

Then, when I tried to click on "My Document", I got this (Screenshot 2):

I tried to "click here" in the top right-hand corner, and the whole process started all over again.

Am I missing a step? I don't see the option for my students to create an assignment at all, and if Microsoft OneDrive isn't working, there's no way for them to submit their work. Please help.

OK, when I simply uploaded the document not from OneDrive, the problem went away. So now OneDrive is the problem? I'll start a new thread. This is frustrating.

I've logged in as a student and no "Submit' button appears. I'm using the basic account and each time I've sent for help, Schoology doesn't offer support to basic accounts. Im not sure waht else to do. I've also requested to upgrade in an attempt to get help but again I haven't had a response.

    Hi Kathy,

Are you using the View As feature or are you logged in as an actual student?

Within your Assignment settings, are submissions enabled?

I am having the same issue - some of my students have the submit button, while others do not.  I have a student who is struggling to turn in her assignment, yet another student just submitted his a few minutes ago.  The student who is struggling has sent me screenshots and the button is clearly missing.

    Hi Mrs. Takkunen,

Is the student viewing the assignment from within their own account or from their parent's account?

Parent accounts have view-only access, so while they're able to access their associated student account, they won't be able to submit anything.
