Unable to archive course

Follow

Hello,

my colleagues and I are unable to archive courses that have been completed for the semester. This is a function that we able to do previously.  We are getting an error message that there is an "internal problem".

Please advise.

Thank you,

Linda Stampley

    Hi Linda,

Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

Have you tried following the workflow delineated in this article: How do I archive courses?

If so and you are still encountering issues, please let us know. Please attach screenshots of the error message if possible.

Additionally, for privacy reasons, I'm going to go ahead and remove your email address from your original post.

Yimei, I have a related question.  I have successfully archived courses in the past.  However, Schoology will not allow me to archive my Summer '19 courses.  Perhaps there is a limit on the number of courses that can be archived?

    Hi Jeanne,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue!

There isn't a limit on the number of courses that can be archived.

It sounds like this might be a network error. If you are still experiencing this issue, you can use this article to troubleshoot.

If the problem persists, please let us know and we can open a ticket with our Support Team to investigate further.

    Hi Yimei,

We continue to have this issue, even after the troubleshooting.

It will not allow any of us to archive a class, continuing to get the "internal error" message.

Please let us know if you can help/open up a help desk ticket to fix the error.

    Thank you!

I am experiencing this same issue while trying to archive courses from the fall semester on the free version.  Was there ever a resolution to this?

    Thank you!

Has anyone received a solution to this problem from Schoology?  I'm receiving the same "internal error" message despite successfully archiving courses in the past.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

    Hi Libby,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this as well!

This issue has been escalated to our Engineering team.

In the meantime there are alternate ways for you to archive your course:

    • In the Grade Setup, add a grading period that has already ended, then add the section to that grading period. The section will automatically archive.
    • Adding and removing a grading period from the affected section also allows the section to be manually archived.

Please let us know if you experience any difficulties following this workflow or if you have any further questions.

    Ms. Shao,

I am having the same issue with 2 of my classes now that the 2019-2020 school year is over for my school. I was able to archive all the rest of the classes but the last 2. Please help. I am getting the message "There is an internal error. Please try again." and have been getting it for 2 weeks now.
