Schoology Feature Ideas should be grouped

I periodically set aside some time to review feature requests and upvote those that I would like to see implemented.  But the number of requests, the frequency of duplicate/similar requests, and the fact that they are just listed in chronological order is daunting.  I doubt many classroom teachers can devote the time to doing this (probably one reason for the duplicate requests).  Maybe you could try grouping them (like: gradebook, calendar, discussions, grading workflow, etc.).  Or you could use tags, with a 'sort by' feature.  I would suggest that YOU should do the grouping/tagging, to ensure consistency of vocabulary. At the same time, you should combine duplicate posts (rather than replying and adding a link to the other request for the poster to go and upvote - they already did the work of typing up their request, so you should be able to link the requests and count it as an upvote.)

This might make it easier:

  • for teachers to see if there is already a comment on an issue they are facing
  • for teachers to find and upvote features pertaining to areas they care about
  • for you guys to see if there are areas needing attention (areas that generate a lot of requests, even if they are not duplicates)

    These are some limitations to the platform we use to host our Help Center and Community forums that do not allow for some of these features. However, we'd like to reassure you that we are actively monitoring, organizing, and consolidating requests on the backend to give accurate feedback to our Product teams. Due to the high volume of requests, it’s not possible to personally respond to every posted request and comment.

    As we continually seek improvements to our Help Center and Community forums, your feedback is well appreciated.

    I understand that you have some software limitations with your "Feature Requests" program.  But the search bar on the Feature request page does not return any results from the list of requests.  How do you expect features to get upvoted (let alone reducing the number of duplicate requests) if teachers can't check to see if their idea has already been proposed?  It is unrealistic to think that teachers have the time to read through page after page of requests.

    PLEASE make this list searchable in some way.

    When making a suggestion, could there be a series of check boxes that related to the feature idea that could then be available to look only at posts for that category. Some suggestions:

    Gradebook

    Google/OneDrive

    Rubrics

    Assignments

    Calendar
