Teachers would like the ability to filter the assignments in the grade book by category. Currently they can only see the average for the category rather than all of the assignments from a specific category. User scenario: Science teacher would like to grade all Labs at once.

Course admins can use the Categories Menu to view and edit the grades for all items under a particular category. In the scenario you provided, they can do so by first making sure that all of their labs are labeled as a grading category called "Labs" (for example). Then, from the header of their Gradebook, they can use the third drop-down menu from the left to select Labs. This view will show the average for the category as well as the individual grades for each item under the category.
