Keeping former students in gradebook

Follow

I am at a school where many students transfer or drop classes at the quarter or will go on IS partway through the year. I would love it if when they leave their grading remained in my grade book for my records.

    Hi Amber,

Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

I see that your district uses the Aeries SIS integration. That means Schoology's rosters are updated by Aeries, which is why your students are being automatically removed from your Schoology courses when they leave. For more information about this, specifically as it pertains to your district, please reach out to your designated support contacts as they're responsible for configuring the integration settings for your district. You can find your support contacts in the footer under Support. If you want to read more about the Aeries integration in general, you can do so here: Aeries SIS Implementation and Configuration Guide.

As a possible work around, I would recommend that you download a .CSV file of your Gradebook before the end of each quarter (before students are transferred/dropped) to have a copy for your records. You can do so by clicking Gradebook in the left menu of your course homepage, then the three vertical dots on the top right.

From there, click Export > select Gradebook as CSV > Next. This should immediately prompt the file download.

You can read more about this process here: How Do I Export Grades?

    Hope this helps!

    Best,
