Auditor Role

Follow

We have Aides that need access to multiple classes.  We don't want to add them as teachers because we dont want them to have that kind of access.  We don't want to add them as students because if they are in more than one section of a teachers course, then that teacher cannot link those sections.  We would like to add them as an "auditor" so that they are members of the course, can see the course materials, due dates, etc.

    Hi Mr. Kenny,

Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

That's correct, you can use Section Override Roles if you wish to give section-specific permissions to Students or Aides. This feature is available for courses (it's not available for groups). I hope this feature helps! Please let us know if you have any questions about it.

have you explored use of the "Section Overried Roles" (Sys Admin info & Instructor Info) and/or defining your own custom org-level user Roles?

No.  I had no idea that even existed.  Wish I knew!  I have tried to do this multiple times with students that are TA's in a certain class and Schoology's answer was to create a separate account for that student, add that newly created student account to the class that he or she is helping with, and giving that account Admin rights.  Sounds like maybe some of Schoology's help-desk team may not realize this exists.  Thanks for sharing.  Do you use this feature?
