Grading Groups

Follow

I am trying to understand using Groups in grading. I have a class of 40 students. For their first assignment, I would like to divide the class in half for a discussion board so it is not overwhelmed in content.

WOuld I create 2 Groups and assign them both to the same Discussion Board or Create 2 Discussion Boards and assign Group A to the first and Group B to the second?

    Hi Professor Hillerbrand,

When using Grading Groups to split up your course members, as detailed in your post, I recommend creating two copies of the same discussion and assign "group A" to the first and group B to the second.

You'll use Individually Assign to assign each group their own discussions. You'll then have the option to filter your gradebook by Grading Group if you decide to grade those Discussions as well.

Please let us know how it goes and if this solution works well for you and your learners!

    Thank you!
