Parent acct + Teacher acct - How do I merge them

Follow

I already have a login (as a teacher) but my child's teacher has given me a code to log in as a PARENT for his school. Can I link to two accounts since they have the same email? If so how?

    Hi Darlene,

As a Basic Schoology Instructor, you'll need to create a Parent account and then you can link your Instructor and Parent accounts together.

Once linked, you will only have to log into one account, where you can then switch to the other account without logging out. You will also be able to designate a primary email address for all of your accounts and receive all notifications with your primary email address.

Thank you for sharing your question! Let us know if you have any other questions.

I tried to do this both from my parent account and linking my teaching and from my teaching to link my parent account and both say linking is not available with this person.  What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Nicole,

It sounds like the User Permission Allow Account Linking is disabled for the Parent role at your organization. These permissions are set at the district level and applied across roles. This means that Parent accounts cannot be linked to any other account.

For more information regarding this permission at your organization, please reach out to your designated Support Contacts.

You can do so by clicking Support in the footer navigation bar within Schoology.
