How are assignments sorted in Bulk Edit??

Follow

Can someone please enlighten me as to how assignments are sorted on the Bulk Edit page?

I think it is by date on each page of assignments, but then the pages have overlapping dates, so that can't be it. It is definitely not assignment type.  When there are no dates it appears to be alphabetically, but again it overlaps from page to page.

For future reference, it would be nice to be able to choose how these are sorted also.

    Hi Mrs. Gastler,

Items listed in the Bulk Edit area of the Gradebook are from oldest at the top, to newest at the bottom. If you have any items that are uncategorized and therefore, ungraded, they will be listed separately under the list of active items.

    Thank you!

On each page, they are in order of date, but the uncategorized ones are in the right place according to the date they have on them (when there is no date, they are at the top).  However, on page 1, I have items dated 8/21/18 to 10/24/18 and on page 2, I have items dated 8/27/18 to 10/22/18.  .  What determines what is on the first page as opposed to the second page??

This is what I could get in the picture of page 1 (the list is about twice as long).

This is everything on page 2

I just don't understand why, for example, Physical Systems 1 would be on page 1, and Physical Systems 2 would be on page 2.

    Hi Mrs. Gastler,

I apologize, I committed an important part of my first reply. Bulk edit is sorted by the date the material was created. This includes material created within the course and imported from resources and other courses.

If this still does not seem to apply to your course(s) let me know so that we can create a ticket and take a closer look.

    Thanks!

I definitely created them in the order of the dates that I gave to them (with like 2 exceptions because I moved them to a different date after I created them), So yes, what you said does not apply to any of my classes.

(Side note:  I have a class that I don't sync and so I don't add dates to any assignment, those are sorted alphabetically only and the pages don't have overlapping).

I've created a ticket so that we can investigate the issue in more detail.

Thank you for sharing your questions, Mrs. Gastler!
