Import Learning Objectives with Structure

Follow

At times there are sets of learning objectives for a subject which are arranged in a hierarchy, and I would like to be able to import those into Schoology along with the hierarchy. For example, I have Social Studies standards; that is broken down into K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 standards. Each of those is broken down into topics like Geography, US History, Historical Understanding, World History, Economics, etc. And those might be further subdivided.

Currently, I can create that structure manually in Schoology by creating nested folders. But when I import the objectives from an Excel csv file, I can only import objectives into one bottom-level folder at a time. That is extremely tedious. I should be able to set up the Excel file with a folder structure, perhaps something like this:

9-12 [tab] Economics [tab] Understanding of Supply/Demand [tab] Student can explain the effects of.........

Then I could import the whole file at once, with the low level items going into the proper folders.

    Hi Rod,

Thanks for sharing your Feature Idea and for providing use cases and examples, they are very helpful!

I can see how this feature would save Instructors and staff a LOT of time, especially when uploading large groups of objectives.

    Thanks again!
