Question about Schoology iOS app URL scheme

Follow

Many iOS apps can be launched via URL. It would be quite the process to add to the app, and that’s not what I’m asking. I was wondering whether this functionality is already present. I wonder this because the URL “schoology://“ will open the app when followed. I couldn’t find any documentation for the feature online, so I imagine it isn’t fleshed out, or that that is a default for all apps. Most of the other apps on my iPad do not open with a “app-name://” URL, though, which gives me some hope that it has been implemented fully (like with maybe a way to open specific assignments via link). If such a thing exists, I would love to know the syntax of it. If not, I’d still like to know so that I can stop looking.

Thanks.

    Hi Elliot,

Thank you for sharing your question in the Community. Can you provide more context regarding what you are trying to accomplish when linking directly to assignments via the app? Sharing your outcomes will help us better understand your question.

    Thank you!

To clarify, I am not encountering any issues with the app. I am not trying to accomplish anything important. And I am not requesting a feature be added. I am only asking whether more can be done with the ‘schoology://‘ link as it is right now. I ask because I am curious and would like to tinker with it. I am sorry if that is missuse of the Community Q&A.

I am not exactly expecting anything specific, I am just wondering whether anything more can be done with the ‘schoology://‘ url or if it can only be used to open the app. To help better explain where my hopes come from, here is an example app: ‘Twitch’––a live streaming entertainment app––has added functionality for the url scheme, and the devs provide this documentation, detailing the syntax of it (at the bottom of the page in a table. The code at the top is not what I am referring to). Additionally, all or most of the default apps have this implemented. I was hoping that the schoology app would have functionality somewhat like that. I am getting the impression that schoology does not have this, but (since the base url works) I thought I’d ask just in case.

    Thank you for the reply.
