Gradebook - Overall Category Grading Column

Follow

Currently teachers are able to filter their gradebook by category. However, they are not able to see the overall category score. This would be a powerful tool for teachers who are allowing students to choose their learning pathway from a number of learning activities assigned to a category. It would enable the teacher and student to see which activities they chose, how they did on them, and how students might choose differently in the future.

I've looked into doing this and at this time you can only export the scores from different categories into an excel file and do the figuring on your own.  It isn't hard to do, but would be a lot easier if you could just do it on the Schoology interface.  Thanks Tom!

It would be very helpful to see the percent for each weighted category at one time as well as the overall grade. So, if I have two categories, say tests at 85% and homework at 15%, I need to see the test category percentage and the homework percentage and the overall grade at once.  This lets me make comparisons, judgments about students' grades, and explain to parents why a grade is the way it is.  The way it is currently, it's numerous clicks, and lots of work, just to get the additional 2 pieces of information.
