I get notified when a student resubmits the assignment, but if I have graded thier previous assignment, how to I tell which student it was?

    Hi Kevin,

When you get a notification, it should show which student resubmitted the assignment. Are you not seeing the student's name when you receive the notification?

    Regards,

On my course homepage Under reminders I see that there are 3 re-submitted assignments. When I click on the link it shows the the assignments that have been resubmitted, but then when I click into that individual assignment, I see not status by the list of student names that indicates a re-submission

I have looked for an answer to this as well, under the reminders it shows that a student has re-submitted work, yet when I click on it, all I see is the entire class and no indication of who re-submitted the work. I have tried looking at the notifications but I do not see if someone re-submitted work, only if they submitted it.

I just found out that there is a tiny little blue box next to the grade that shows when an assignment has been resubmitted.

I can't figure out any markings anywhere to designate who has resubmitted an assignment and it's too time consuming to wade through the notifications.  This is really frustrating!

Here is an example of what it looks like when a work has been re-submitted. It is the little paper shaped icon next to the score.

    Here's another way:

In GRADEBOOK, click VIEW, then Graded with New Submission.

I need to have two score boxes - one for the original, and one for the resubmission, so I have a record of what they got the first time.  I need this to show up in the actual submissions page where the score box is.

I am not getting notifications that a student has resubmitted an assignment... any idea if I didn't click a box on something? I feel like it is that simple.

    Hello Megan,

Please make sure that within your courses, on the Notifications button at the top right, you have 'Assignment submissions' checked. Also, it may be a good idea to make sure those notifications are not being filtered by your email application as Junk or Spam.

This Help Article can provide more troubleshooting tips for Notifications: https://support.schoology.com/hc/en-us/articles/201322643-I-don-t-receive-any-email-notifications-from-Schoology

    Thanks!

How does this work with Google Assignments? The blue box was an AWESOME tool, but I am losing that when I utilize the Google Assignments Features.

    Hi Kelsi,

Re-submitted Google Assignments will trigger a notification in the 'Reminders' area of the Home page as well as the course itself. It will also trigger a notification (antenna icon at the top of Schoology) and an email notification, depending on your notification settings.

    I hope this information helps!

There are two problems I need a solution to:

    1) When they do resubmit, if it is an automatically graded assignment, it's difficult to know they have submitted it because that notification sometimes gets buried in all of the other notifications.  I really would like to have a button to mark a notification as read and have it archive (so I have documentation, just in case..).

    2) Sometimes, if the submission is done that same day, just later on in the day, the notification will be lumped into the large group submission notification and it's difficult to know or remember to put the assignment in the grade book.

This is important to me because we already have a grade book program so we have to manually place all of our Schoology grades into that program.  When the notifications lump together, or when a notification is buried within the feed, it can be really difficult to make sure all of the grades are accounted for.

Hi all! The concern I have is that I see in my notifications that a student resubmitted a project or assignment....but if it is a resubmission and all of my assignments are already graded (including that student's previous grade), I have a hard time telling which student redid something to raise their grade.  Previously I would see a list of students who submitted an assignment and there would be a little paper icon next to the resubmitted student's name.

    Does that help?

I assume there is still no "good" answer to address this issue when using the Google Apps Drive.  I have graded student assignments and provide an opportunity for them to go back and make corrections and resubmit.  I am being notified of re-submissions on Schoology, but cannot decipher what student re-submitted their assignment.  ONE MAJOR FLAW in the current Schoology platform that should easily be addressed.

I have to go to the gradebook and change the view to "graded with new submissions". This highlights the cell in BLUE (as denoted above with images from JOSEPH QUIGLEY with a previous comment) and tells me to go look at it. I have one grade in the "Reminder" section on the course's homepage but there are ELEVEN in the "graded with new submission" view. As a teacher this is frustrating and I believe that other teachers might not go into the gradebook and look and they do not know to actually look there. As a parent, this makes me think that my biological students' grades could be wrong!

I will say that I felt like an idiot when I figured this out because students were telling me they had submitted assignments and I was saying that they hadn't. Well, they had submitted the assignments. :( It is not good for a teacher to be proven wrong. Why can this feature not be easier to manage?
