Parent Weekly Email - show current quarter grade

Some of our parents have requested that the weekly summary they receive show the current quarter grade in addition to the overall grade.

  The current quarter grade should be the default for the daily/weekly emails and the course grade view in Schoology.

  I love this idea.

  As a teacher and a parent in a school implementing Schoology this has been a HUGE issue for us. Parents are confused when they get the weekly summary and it displays a passing average when their child actually has an F average for the quarter. Many parents are relying on the weekly summary to keep them up to date on their child's progress because just like teachers, they lead busy lives and don't log in to Schoology on a daily basis like their children do.

  PLEASE put the quarterly average in the weekly summary and save the overall average exclusively for the Schoology log in.

  Would like to see the Parent Email Digest display grades only for the current quarter. One parent's student was missing a major assignment and the parent couldn't tell until a note came home from the teacher. Showing a current grade as an average of all the previous quarters' grades is not very helpful.

  I would be happy if it was just the current term grade without the overall grade. We have found the overall grade to be very misleading at times. Also, it requires parent education on the topic when it is just the overall grade.

  Yes, this would be very helpful. Parents do not have a realistic view of how their student is doing in a class unless they take the time to log in. For some parents, that is not always possible if they are on the go.

  YES! This is what the parents want to see! In fact, most assume the grade they are seeing is the current quarter grade, not the overall grade, so the current systems creates surprises for parents when the report cards don't match what they think Schoology is telling them.
