Assignment default time

Is there a way to set a customizable default time for assignments?
I would like to be able to set different default times for each of my classes.
Thanks.

    Hello All,

Thank you for all of your excitement and support for new features in Schoology!

This would be a fantastic featurer! It seems like a small thing, but it would really improve my workflow. It would be great if we could even reset the default time for the beginning of the school day, rather than midnight. (I teach high school, and students definitely try to take advantage!)

If the default time is always 11:59 pm, that explains why the calendar shows assignments in the 'month' view, but not the 'week' or 'day' (since they are at the very bottom of the page).
Can default times be set as "all day" so they show up in all calendar views (assuming calendar support this featur, similar to how Google and Outlook does it)

    This feature would be great!

It's a little frustrating that this feature does not exist. I occasionally forget to set my assignment due time for 8:00 AM (beginning of our school day) and students think they have until midnight to complete it.

We as a school would like this feature added if at all possible.Has there been any progress I could report to my faculty?

It's true...because it's set so late, students and parents often think it's due the next day. I tried setting it for a day earlier, but it got confusing for all. Even if it were set for 8 am, that would be sufficient for most classes.

Honestly, for our staff this has created the most resistance to using Schoology to its full potential. Teachers want to avoid repetitive, unnecessary actions. 11:59 pm is not a due date any of our teachers or our students care to follow. It would be nice if teacher could customize this on their end. However, we can't even control it from an system administrator end...pretty frustrating.

It is incredibly frustrating that this stiil has not been added. I have to change the time for EVERY SINGLE ASSIGNMENT so that students know when an assignment is actually due.

This would be a great feature. The current default time of 11:59 creates an extra often unnecessary step and has led to some confusion about due dates/times. If the default time was the start of the school day, teachers, students, support staff and parents would have a clearer idea of which assignments were to be completed outside of the school day. If each school could set their own default time, it would make Schoology more responsive and useful to individual school's needs.

I want this feature too!! To give you devs a preview of what I have to go through, for our school's Academic Policy, we have to make assignments due in the morning since not all our students have computers. Our students would come in early in the morning to use school computers to get work done, so instructors have to make assignments due in the morning.

This is such a huge thing for students. In their day or week view in their calendars - all of the assignments are not visible because they are all sitting at the 11:59pm slot. And many students feed their Schoology calendar to the google calendar and have to go into each assignment and change the time. Teachers are frustrated that they need to tweak the time on each assignment they add and will not do it consistently and cannot understand why anyone would select 11:59pm as the timeframe for K-12 assignments. Please let schools control this feature or change it to default to end of school day 3pm or something more reasonable that will actually display for students in the week or day view of their calendar.

As a former computer programmer, I don't understand why this change hasn't already been made. Allowing a default due time for each class/section seems like it should be an incredibly simple change. Please make it.

I agree that this would be a big help! The 11:59pm is not ideal especially because it does not appear on the kids' calendars properly.

The fact that no one from Schoology has responded to this IN OVER TWO YEARS makes it clear to me that they haven't even read it and that they really don't give a care to what teachers think or need.  I will definitely encourage my district to drop them.  This is absolutely ridiculous.

This is extremely frustrating that despite feedback from teachers in the field as well as basic common sense the default time has not been set to the start of a typical school day.  It does not seem like it would take a lot of work to set the default time to a more school friendly time rather than the middle of the night.

YES YES YES 11:59 PM is absurd, and students try to take advantage if I don't remember to fix it on an assignment. Either drop time completely, fix it to 8AM, or let us change the default!!

There are quite a few responses to this request from users, and yet the midnight default is still there, please Schoology techs, allow teachers to have the ability to change the default time.  Still a fan of Schoology

Schoology...this is a must!  Please consider adding this feature.  To the best of my knowledge students are not in school at 11:59 pm!

This is such an important workflow feature.  No one makes an assignment due at midnight.  Please, implement this!

Really have my fingers crossed for this.  11:59 due times cause so much confusion.  Was it due that day or is it due the next day?  This may make sense in an all online course, but not in a regular K-12.  Please let us set a default for our school and/or our classes!

Who knows? It *feels* like no one cares about the issue. It's not that difficult to do. Any number of us could implement it, given access to the code base. I think a courteous response to this is LONG overdue.
