Test discrepancies

Follow

After completing a multiple choice/true false test using Schoology. Two students complained that their test responses were altered by Schoology.

Students had been able to see the correct responses after submitting the test.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have had this problem as well. Multiple times. The students review their answers and when they click submit, the answers are somehow changed.

This issue has plagued us for a long time as well. Every few weeks a student reports that they selected one an answer choice, and then when they submitted the test, it shows their answer as a completely different choice they know for sure they didn't click on.

It may be an issue of where Schoology is mapping scrolling within the questions. We've noticed when trying to replicate this issue that if the student doesn't click away from the question and starts scrolling with their mouse, then it will actually scroll to a different answer choice (but they won't notice because they are already looking at the next question).

SCHOOLOGY PLEASE FIX THIS! I believe we've submitted a few help requests about this before. It's obviously very frustrating to a student who took the time to choose the correct answer only to find out the system grades them incorrectly. They start losing trust in the learning management system.

I have this issue almost every semester and am on the verge of moving to Canvas because of it. Two students reported it just yesterday. But without actually watching dozens of students take the quiz (which is impossible), there's no way for me to know for sure if the student's report is accurate. I know a few students were misinterpreting what the red X and the green check mark meant.

    Hello Dr, Pfau,

Very sorry to hear that this issue has been ongoing for you and your students. Please take a moment to review this help article and let us know if taking these precautions and settings into account, do not help resolve the issues you are seeing. We are happy to help!

We are experiencing the same thing. Completely random. I get at least a handful of reports about it each semester.
