Ability to delete assignment submissions

Follow

I would like to be able to delete multiple dropbox submissions at once. Sometimes, students turn in a wrong assignment, and we don't need it to remain as a dropbox submission.

    Hello,

We have released an update that will send a reminder when an assignment is resubmitted. This thread will remain open to gather feedback regarding the ability to delete submissions.

EDIT: This update has been temporarily reverted. We will add a notification here as soon as the feature has been re-enabled.

EDIT 2: This feature has been re-enabled. If you encounter any issues, please do not hesitate to let us know by clicking 'Submit a Reqest' near the top-right of this page.

    Sincerely,
    Jon

Yes - I agree, there is a need for the administrator of the course to be able to delete dropbox submissions.  Students (especially when they are learning the system) click on the wrong assignment to submit.  It continually shows up as an ungraded assignment in the wrong assignment.  Also, we need to clearly see if a student resubmitted a revision rather than just an email notification.

Yes, this is an absolute must, otherwise files that are submitted to the wrong assignment link just continually show up as ungraded, and to compound the problem, if I grade them as a "zero" then there is no way of knowing when the student submits the correct file as a revision!

I would love to see a new revision notification similar to the needs grading notification.

Has there been any resolution on this? I have a year long assignment that I just move forward by editing the due date. If I can't delete a student's submission, they can't use the dropbox to submit a future assignment.

I agree with the group, what I would add is for students to also have the ability to delete submissions that they mistakenly added/uploaded.

There def needs to be the ability for both the admin and the student to delete a submission to the Dropbox. This way the admin or student can easily handle multiple inadvertent submissions.

This is an absolute must! In the first assignments we've done, my students have submitted multiple revisions. It'd be nice to only have one final revision.

I have wondered the same thing! My students submitted the wrong assignment for the wrong class. Please notify how to resolve this, Schoology!

I also agree!!! I have a class set of iPads and I've had students "accidentally" submit their assignment under another student's name who forgot to log out of the Schoology app. Then I have to figure out which assignment really belongs to that student.

I too would like to see a feature added that would allow you to delete previously posted assignments. Thank you!

    Schoology team,

Please add the delete option to remove an unwanted/mistaken student submission for the course administrator. Students sometimes send submissions to the wrong activity or homework. Please, give us, the course administrators, that control feature. Thanks.

I need to be able to delete student submissions that were an incorrect paper, incomplete paper, etc. There is no way to tell with Turnitin what the latest submission is when there are multiple submissions.

This feature would be a helpful addition. I would like to have a separate folder for late work that students can submit assignments to. The ability to delete assignments from this folder when they have been graded would help the folder from becoming cluttered. Also, if a student has multiple submissions into this folder it assumes they are all the same and if I grade one of these submissions it marks them all as graded, so filtering it by ungraded work filters the student out altogether.

    Thanks

Please add this feature. I can't tell you how many times students submit the wrong assignment. It would be awesome to somehow delete it, move it, or even (best yet) send it back to the student.

We just ran into a scenario where teachers and/or students MUST have the ability to delete a submission. This should be a very basic option - please consider adding it!
Here's why... we are using Schoology to also collect course request forms from students. There are three different assignments, each for the different options. If a student submits to the wrong dropbox, it throws us off in ensuring that we place students correctly. We need to have a little more control here as teachers to be able to correct student mistakes which are bound to happen.

Please add the feature to allow teachers to delete assignments submitted incorrectly. This would be very helpful.

Please add this feature to the priority list. It is easy for students to upload the wrong assignments especially when working with Google drive, and they have the option to delete and resubmit an assignment!

Yes, I agree, there is a need for administrators to delete individual submissions. It is frustrating to keep seeing that assignments are waiting to be graded when they are in fact not the correct submission.

Please add this feature! Aargh! Both the student and admin should be able to delete assignments!

Yes, totally agree, at a minimum the teacher needs to be able to delete submissions! Many times a student submits to the wrong place or remembers to do something else after submitting and it isn't due yet. PLEASE add this feature. It would be nice for students to be able to delete their own submission as well when that happens.

This would be extremely helpful.  My students sometimes submit an old document to a new assignment.

I would also like to be able to delete a student's submission of a writing assignment. I have had several students submit a paper from one assignment on a different assignment. I want to delete their "misplaced" papers.

I think it would be a good idea to add the ability to delete assignment submissions as a permission that I can turn on/off for faculty.

I've looked all over and haven't found a way to delete a submission that was uploaded to the wrong assignment. I've seen a very long thread about it here, so apparently I am not the only one who is bothered by continually seeing I have something to grade that was simply turned in to an assignment that is not due for another week and a half.

Still looking for this ability... Especially because the start of the year is a learning curve for students.
