Google Drive Assignments Ownership When a Teacher Leaves

Follow

When a teacher leaves the district, their Google Drive account is deactivated. What happens to the students' Google files that were created through a Google Drive Assignment? The teacher shows as the owner and the student is only the editor. Will the doc still remain in the student's drive even after the teacher's account is terminated?

    Hi Jessica,

Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

Since you created the assignment in your Google Drive, the student would no longer have access to the assignments once you deactivate your account.

Are you planning to make someone else the owner of your files once you leave your District?

If so, here's an article provided by Google directly on how to do so.

    Best,
