SOMEONE IS USING MY EMAIL ADDRESS

Hello, I am extremely frustrated!!!!!! I have been trying to get inn contact with someone from Schoolology for the past week and have submitted 3 requests previously and no one as gotten back to me. I have tried calling and an automated voice message is all I am able to access!!! I was registering for a course through PaTTan and they stated that I needed to have a Schoolology account to access the course materials. I attempted to log into my account using my word email (paynes@hasdk12.org) and an error message popped up "an account is already registered with this email"...since I have used Schoolology in the past, I requested that "new log in" information be sent to my email. I tried this 3 times since last week and did not receive a "reset password" email till this morning. The email said "Hello SAMANTHA" and my name is SARAH, so I was confused why my name was changed in the email. I changed my password and upon logging into the account associated with MY EMAIL, I found that someone who was NOT ME was using my email address to register for courses and schools. The demographics that the student entered were not my own. I would like to delete the course that this student SAMANTHA registered as with my email (Honors English - 1). I would also like to change my SCHOOL. I am an employee through the Hazleton Area School District - however, the student who utilized this email previously (Samantha Payne) listed Hazleton Area High School. Am I able to change this information?? I contacted the course administer (John Natt) but have not heard back. I need to change this information as soon as possible!! PLEASE HELP.

    Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community! 

    I am sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. 

    When I reviewed your account, it appears your name is associated with the email you provided  and there are no English Courses associated with the account.  Only the PaTTan course you mentioned is visible.  In this case, are you still experiencing difficulty with this issue?  

    It appears that you have attempted to submit a ticket using your Basic Schoology account. Schoology provides dedicated phone and chat support to Enterprise schools and organizations only.

    If Hazelton Area School District has an Enterprise Schoology account, we recommend reaching out to your designated Support Contact(s) to help you change your email address or  submit a ticket.  Your Support Contact(s) will have better knowledge of the specific settings employed at your organization that can aid in troubleshooting. 

    If you continue to experience difficulty with this issue, please let me know. I will be happy to take a closer look.

    Thank you for your information. I was able to find the administrator who was from Hazleton in charge of the Honors course that was listed under "My Courses" in 2019. Luckily, he was able to delete the course for me. However, I was not asked to join Schoolology from my district. I was required to create an account for trainings for my professional development through PaTTan. Therefore, I do not have any designated Support Contacts on Schoolology that I am aware of. I did research on the site yesterday and under CONTACTS no name(s) are listed. Which is why I was having such a hard time troubleshooting with this for the past week. 
     
    Is there any way that Hazleton Area High School can be deleted from "My Schools" and changed to a different school? Does a school need to be listed? 
     
    Like I said it seems as though a STUDENT through Hazleton Area High School utilized my email address to create an account. I am not a student; I am an employee with the district. Now that I am aware she used MY email address, I need to change the information the student entered previously.

    Hi Sarah, 

    Thank you for clarifying. As a Basic user, you cannot update/delete the school with which your existing account is associated with. Previously, you would be able to delete your current account and create a new account with the correct school.  However, during the summer of 2020, Schoology temporarily suspended the ability for new teachers to register for Schoology Basic, the free classroom edition of Schoology Learning.  You can learn more about that decision here
