Schoology App not allowing the input of grades

Follow

Hi, Does anyone have a solution for this issue. When I input grades for my students I get a pink message at the top stating 'unable to load grades. Please try again'

I have deleted the app and reinstalled but this is not working.

I can input grades when I use Schoology through a search engine but It is not as good as the App as it does not allow for grades to be given for students that do not submit work - Sometimes they give me a paper doc or email me the work.

I cannot get an answer from anyone including schoology who have a complicated system for support.

please help as this is URGENT.

    Hi all,

Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

I apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused.

We’ve reported this issue to our Product Engineering team with a priority of Moderate Impact. Our Engineering team will be prioritizing work on this against other issues that may arise, but we hope to have more updates for you soon. We encourage you to use the workaround: use the browser for grading assignments that include rubrics.

Please let us know if there is new information about this issue that might change the priority. Otherwise, we’ll update you via this thread when there's a resolution. Thank you for your patience.

Currently, there's no ETA on when a fix will be released. However, here's a Help Guide that outlines how Schoology prioritizes defects.

    Hi, Ms. Martin.

Thank you for reaching out in the Schoology Community!

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulty with this issue.

Depending on which Schoology app you are using, we suggest using the most updated version of the app.

To take advantage of all Schoology features, devices must run iOS 12. or above. Learn more about supported versions of iOS.

For Android, devices must run at least version 6.0 of the Android operating system or optimal performance in Schoology.  You can learn more about this here.

Can you please let me know if you are using the iOS app or the Android app for Schoology?  This way I can take a closer look and try to pinpoint the root cause.

Also, when you need to report an issue , I recommend reaching out to your designated Support Contact(s) to help you submit a ticket.  Your Support Contact(s) will have better knowledge of the specific settings employed at your organization that can aid in troubleshooting.

You can find your Support Contact(s) by clicking Support in the footer of your Schoology account.

    Best,

Hi, I reached out to my own school support but it’s an IOS App issue . I’m using iPad and iPhone that are new. When I click the grade symbol on individual submissions, my rubric pops up really quick and then the pink error message comes up. If I jump in fast enough I can catch the rubric before it disappears and I can add the grades but this is not acceptable to me as a very busy teacher of 6 year groups and teaching from home.
    Thanking you

We are seeing this same issue.  We are running 14.4.1 for the iPadOS and 2021.03.1 for the Schoology App. Teachers are saying it's been a few weeks since this has worked.

This is truly impacting my work in a huge way.

I am also running 14.4.1 on my Ipad.

I cannot complete the work I need to when I have to hit the grade button up to 20 times to get it to let me enter a grade.

    Yes, please fix this!!

I am using the iPad app with the most up to date versions of everything. This is a new issue that has never happened before, and is specifically an issue with the app and not the user.

The issue happens when scoring an assignment in the app that uses a rubric for grading. Clicking on the scoring icon that normally brings up the rubric briefly shows the rubric loading and then a pink bar appears across the top that says "Unable to load grades. Please try again."

If you click and attempt to load the rubric repeatedly it will sometimes load the rubric eventually, usually after 5-15 attempts. This happens with multiple different wifi connections, and restarting or reinstalling the app doesn't fix it.

I started experiencing this same issue yesterday using the rubric to input grades for a project.  The part that stinks the most is that it is only on the app that I can put in the grade for someone who didn't submit work. I have reinstalled the app, my ipad and phone are both completely up to date.  I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, I restarted my ipad several times and I'm still experiencing the same issue on this assignment.  It looks like this started happening to people a month ago, is there a solution yet?

I opened a support ticket with Schoology a few weeks ago and they said this is a known issue and the fix will be included in a future release of the App.  They did not provide an ETA.
