Schedule Update for future release

Follow

I would love to be able to write an update and be able to schedule it to be seen by students at a later time and/ or date.

Hi, I’m a student who has used Schoology for a couple of years now, and I recently developed a need for this feature myself. So, I created a website that allows you to schedule your updates to post at specific times while also providing a means to draft potential updates. The website is here: https://update-scheduler-production.herokuapp.com/. To use it, you simply have to login with your Schoology account and follow the tutorial. It is still in early stages of development, so please excuse any typos or design issues. That being said, the functionality of it should be complete, and it works on desktop and mobile. If you have any problems or concerns you can file an issue here.

Thanks, Andrew. People on Twitter wondering about it today as they couldn't find any terms and conditions.

Hi Philip, thanks for letting me know about people's interest in the site.

It seems as though this post is now linked from another similar post on the Schoology forums, so I think I'll provide a short update to address comments about terms and conditions and the overall status of the project. But first, I want to note that the site is now accessible at https://www.updatescheduler.com, which is the new primary URL.

In regards to terms and conditions, I hope to add a page for this in the near future to make clear what data is collected by the site. To put it simply, very little user data is stored by my site itself since most information is accessed through Schoology's API as needed. Further, the code for the website is open source and can be found here. I hope to be as transparent as possible with how the site uses Schoology data.

While I do wish to make the site more accessible, I recently graduated and am no longer using Schoology as an LMS. This means that I can no longer test the site in a live environment, which makes adding features more difficult. Things I would like to take care of soon are documentation (terms and conditions) and a few bug fixes, but, other than those, there may not be many more site updates in the future unless I receive a direct request. Feel free to reach out using the new contact section on the tutorial page.
