    Hello Sin,

Thank you for posting your question.

Please remember to always contact your instructor or school if you have technical trouble submitting assignments so that they can help you with due dates and making sure you are not falling behind.

Please make sure that your computer or device meets the system requirements for using Schoology: https://support.schoology.com/hc/en-us/articles/201002153-System-Requirements

If your system does meet the requirements above, and you still experience these issues, please let us know.

    Thank you!

    Hello, Charles Black/Robert Kabral

My name is Doug Arnold and I'm presently taking the part-time course in Boston in User Experience Design. My final project is based on Schoology's interface. We were informed by General Assembly that students have to download and upload assignments through another application named Slack.

Assuming that all my fellow students' devices met the system requirements, why is schoology unable to allow students the capacity to download and upload assignments with relative ease? Is there an issue or update that I am unaware of? I will cc my instructor on this issue.

    Thank you, Doug Arnold

    Continuing Education – Students

    PROBLEM STATEMENT

The problem, I suspect, is that students are unable to use the present Learning Management System for all aspects of their online educational experience. They have been informed to use a second app to access their homework assignments.

    RESEARCH GOALS

    1. I want to understand how students use the schoology application
    2. I want to learn the pain points for students using two applications for coursework
    3. I want to learn about their present user experience

    SCREENER QUESTIONS

Do you use one application or two to access your course materials and homework?

How often do you check your homework channel?

What do you think might be barriers for you to make time for doing your homework?

    RESEARCH QUESTIONS

Please explain the process by which you receive and upload homework assignments.

How have you handled online roadblocks in the past?

How do you balance homework assignments with non-school-related responsibilites?

What has your experience been with digital interfaces in general?

    SAMPLE INTRODUCTORY SCRIPT

Hello, I’m conducting a survey of continuing education students who use web applications to access their coursework. My goal is to learn how students access/download homework assignments and how they upload assignments when they’re complete. Could I have your permission to record this meeting? The data collected here is for educational purposes only. Thank you!

The idea of this meeting is to see if we can improve the Learning Management System that is currently in use. You are going to help us navigate a prototype of a redesigned site. Its important to understand that we are testing the site and not you. So you can relax! I should also explain that there are no right or wrong answers so don’t worry about messing up.

It’s important that you be honest. If you are struggling with something or don’t like the way it works, please say so. You aren’t going to offend anybody.

The most important thing to remember is that I need you to explain what you are thinking. Try to think out loud and talk about the various options you are considering. Before you click on any link explain what other options you considered and why you picked the one you did.

Finally, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. I might not be able to answer them straight away because this could prejudice the testing. However, I will answer them at the end.

Let’s start off with something easy. Can you tell me a bit about yourself? Tell me about your job? Tell me a bit about your computer experience. How confident do you feel using a Mac or PC? Do you use them for work? What about at home?

How much do you use the internet? What kind of sites do you use regularly and find most useful?

Okay, lets talk about the site. It’s the site we use as continuing education students. Before going further, I want to ask about your expectations. What do you think a continuing education website should look like and what functionalities would it contain?

Thank you for your time and attention!
