Audio/Video in the "New" Assessments

Follow

Please consider adding native recording tools to question creation/editing within the new Schoology Assessments.   This is an invaluable tool that currently personalizes learning & provides necessary accommodations to struggling readers in the current Test/Quiz material.

    HELLOOOOO Everyone!

Today, Schoology has taken steps to make Assessments MUCH better. We have added the ability to directly upload audio/video files to the stimulus and rich text responses of assessment questions in both course and managed assessments.

Recording you ask? That's what we're working on next! In the meantime, let us know what you think of this new feature to help provide rich media within assessments for your learners!

Yes. With plans to phase out the old Test & Quizzes, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't make sure the New Assessments cover the same ground as the old ones. I'm not sure why they plan on phasing out the old module. Why not leave both and allow teachers to decide which tool they like the best?

Listening comprehension is the number 1 standard for teaching of languages.  The assessments need to include a way to embed audio files.

I would love to have the option to embed an audio file to help with IEP accommodations.

Please add audio features to the label image question format.  I would think to test listening comprehension where a student listens to a series of sentences and labels the image in order of what they hear.

Please add audio so that tests can be read for students and students can record answers.

I am needing the audio recording option for ESL students.  Please add this function.

Please add the audio on new assessments. Some great things happening but hate to lose the differentiation.

Please add an audio feature to assessments.  I have students that have the accommodation of read aloud for assessments.  This will allow them to put headphones on and remain in class to have the test read to them from the computer.  This feature will also be helpful for students taking a language course.

Great to see audio now an option. It would be even better to be able to record directly in the assessments feature rather than having to upload audio files. Would also be great for students to be able to add audio responses in assessments.

Recording directly into the question is a must-have!  It takes too much time to record elsewhere and then individually upload the files to the questions.

Though I'm thankful for the ability to upload audio, it would be great if native audio recording was a built-in option for assessment questions as it currently is for tests/quizzes. Recording questions and answers, exporting audio files, then attaching those files to questions feels so much more tedious and time-consuming than what tests/quizzes currently offers with regard to native, in-question recording options.
