How do I hide grades from students?

Answer

As a Course Admin, there are several options for hiding grades from students.

Hide Overall Grades

Use Visibility Settings in Grade Setup to hide overall grades, grading period grades, or total points achieved in the student grade report. 

Unpublished Materials

Unpublish your course material to hide the grade from students. The grade is still displayed in your gradebook but students are unable to access the material or the grade.

Subjective Questions

Tests or assessments that contain subjective questions and View Submissions is disabled and do not display the grade to students until all questions are graded. You may add a subjective question to the assessment with a point value of zero. This way, students will see N/A or –/total points possible under the grade until you grade it.
