Question
How do I prevent my students from navigating away from a test or assessment to look up answers in another browser?
Answer
Instructors may wish to use a third-party lockdown browser such as Respondus LockDown Browser.
The Respondus LockDown Browser opens the test in full-screen mode and prevents students from navigating away from the assessment or accessing other applications, such as the Internet or their notes, while the test is in progress. The browser also prevents copy and paste, right-clicking, screen capture, messaging, or printing.
Additionally, instructors using Assessments may wish to set a time limit for the assessment. Students who have not finished before the time limit is expired have their assessments automatically submitted with the answers they have completed. Learn more here.
For instructors using Test/Quiz, the following settings can also be used:
- Time Limit: Set a time limit for the entire test/quiz.
- Attempt Limit: 1
- Resumable: No
