AMP Starter Items contain a set of items that cover the ELA and Math Common Core Standards for K-12. The items can be added to managed assessments in AMP as Assessments Teams build out assessments for distribution in school buildings. Search by Learning Objective
Begin with the AMP Starter Items by Learning Objectives Report to identify which learning objectives have starter items aligned for use. You can find the document in this Public Resources folder.
The document lists the learning objective reference. If the learning objective is not listed, then there are no starter items aligned to that standard.
Once you locate the learning objective in the report:
- Enter the reference in the Select Learning Objective search field.
- Select the objective from the auto-populated drop-down menu.
- Click New Search.
- The items containing the selected learning objective will load on the right.
Search by Reference ID
You can search for items by using the item reference ID (e.g. ELA.RL.9-10.1.0006 as seen in the screenshot below). A reference ID is assigned to each learning objective in the item bank. Alternatively, you can search via the Learning Objective reference endpoint. For example, if you want to search for CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.1, you can search by RL.9-10.1:
Search by Keyword
Enter a keyword from the question or passage and search for similar items using the Keyword search:
Step 3 — Preview the Item
Click the item's reference number title (for example ELA.L.7.5.0046) to preview the item. From the item preview, you can review the item and see the correct answer from the Show Answers option.
Step 4 — Add the Item to the Managed Assessment
To add an item to a managed assessment, check the item and click Add to Assessment in the upper-right corner of the search results or the preview. Once the item has been added successfully, you can return to your search results or create a new search.
To add one or more items directly from the search results, check the box to the left of each item and click Add to Assessment.
To exit AMP Starter Items and return to the managed assessment, click X in the upper-right corner.
Once the items have been added to a managed assessment, you can set the possible points per item, rearrange the items on the assessment, make the assessment active, and distribute the assessment to courses.
