Sign up for a Parent Account in Schoology

ParentSignUp.gif

  1. Go to www.schoology.com.
  2. Click Sign Up at the top of the page and and choose Parent.
  3. Enter your Parent Access Code. This is a 12-digit code in xxxx-xxxx-xxxx format that you receive from one of your child's instructors.
  4. Fill out the form with your information.
  5. Click Register to complete.

When you use a Parent Access Code to create an account, you are automatically associated to your child. You can add additional children to your account using the Add Child button.

Note:
  • If your Parent Access Code does not allow you to register or, if the code does not have 12 digits, please contact your child's instructor or school for more information.

Multiple Children at Different Districts

If your children attend different schools that are not in the same district (or are not part of the same Schoology Enterprise account), you will see the following error message when you attempt to use the Add Child button to associate your parent account with their student account:

Parents must have an account at each of their children's schools. For example, if you have one child at a High School in one district, and another child at a Middle School in a different district, you must have accounts at both districts and link your accounts together. Linking accounts enables you to toggle between two or more accounts without having to log out and back in. Each district separately manages your parent accounts and can then communicate with you as necessary.

I would really need to create separate email addresses for each child?

That really does not seem to make sense to me.

    Hi Renee,

You would only need separate email addresses if two or more of your children attend different schools, in different districts. If your children attend schools at the same district, you would not need different email addresses. Instead you can use the Add Child feature.

If you do find that you need two different parent accounts, you can link both of the accounts together and manage them as if they are one account. Please visit this Help Article for information about linking your accounts.

Once a parent creates an account, would they still go to schoology.com to login or would they/could they log in via schoology.schooldomain.xxx?

    Hello Hope,

The login depends on your school's settings for parent accounts. For example, if your staff and students happen to login using an SSO, parents typically don't login the same way and therefore, they would login at app.schoology.com instead.

I'm happy to open a ticket for you if you'd like more detailed advice regarding your organization's settings!
